Autism Materials in Indian Languages

We are often asked for materials in Indian languages, including from professionals who work with Indian families in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and other countries. AFA has received a grant to translate materials, and we will post these as they become available. We currently have portions of our journal, the Autism Network, available in Hindi. Choose the PDF links to view these sections.

The National Autistic Society (in the U.K.) has already completed translation of introductory materials in several Indian languages. We gratefully acknowledge the effort NAS has gone through to make these materials available. See the links below:

Mirpuri
Help and advice recorded in Mirpuri, the main dialect spoken in the Punjab area of Pakistan. It can be understood by Punjabi speakers from India and Pakistan. Since the written scripts are different in the two countries, we are providing this information as sound clips which can be used for all families who speak Punjabi.

Sylheti
Help and advice recorded in Sylheti, a dialect spoken in Bangladesh. It does not have a script so we have provided information as sound clips for you to play or download. This information can be understood by other Bengali speakers from Bangladeshi and India.
